What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique that provides stress reduction and relaxation to promote healing. It is a healing modality that works with your body’s energy centers (chakras) to balance and restore your natural energies.  It is used all over the world, including many hospitals, to balance emotions and improve health.  Reiki aids in healing by reestablishing harmony in the body and helping people become more balanced physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. It can:

  • Relieve pain and tension

  • Stimulate your immune system

  • Foster bone and tissue healing after injury or surgery

  • Support recovery and side effects of Western medical treatments such as radiation, chemotherapy, surgery, & kidney dialysis

  • Bring on a meditative state

  • Create feelings of wellness, relaxation, security, and wellness

 

What to expect:

I act as a conduit between you and the universal life force energy.  Energy flows from my hands to you.  During a session you are fully clothed on the table.  As a practitioner I often use gentle touch, but if you aren’t comfortable with that I would simply place my hands just above your body, using a series of different hand positions. There is zero pressure, massage, or manipulation involved. Most people feel very relaxed and some fall asleep!

All hour-long appointments are customized to the individual.  The first 40 minutes is dedicated to the reiki portion of your appointment, and is tailored to your needs.

Distance Reiki

In reiki, practitioners learn sacred symbols and one of them is for “distance reiki.”  This allows practitioners to perform reiki and clear blockages on those who are not present.  It works on the principle that we are all connected because all our bodies are energy.  In saying that, distance reiki is an option for those who are unable to or prefer not to come to my space. Distance reiki is also available for your furry friends and family!
